With an estimated 3 million middle-aged adults physically inactive across the country,[1],[2] Public Health England PHE and the Royal College of General Practitioners RCGP are encouraging adults to incorporate brisk walking into their days as a way to improve their general health and wellbeing. Regular brisk walking over time can help to reduce the risk of diabetes, cancer, heart disease, stroke and can also improve mental health. Over time, brisk walking can help to lower the risk of serious illnesses like heart disease and type 2 diabetes. It also sets goals and provides hints and tips to keep you going. Building on the success of our campaign, we are working with a coalition of partners across the country to get the nation walking and help promote the Active 10 app, reminding people just how easy it is to fit Active 10 into their day this summer.
